Just what exactly is a modern wedding song? About 5 years ago I was fortunate enough to have a song that I wrote for my wedding professionally recorded. Little did I know that there was a high demand for moment specific wedding songs that had a "modern" sound and feel. The standard for most weddings is to choose wedding music based on what has already been used and quite frankly, most of these songs are not "wedding" specific. My songs were written with the intention of enhancing these special moments...not highlighting popular songs from the past.
For this reason, I began writing moment specific modern wedding songs. I wanted to write a unity candle song that captured the exact moments that a bride and groom share as they light the candle and look into each other's eyes. I wanted a first dance song that not only captured the moment of the bride and groom dancing, but also give a peek at their future as they begin the greatest dance of all, their lives together. The father daughter song and mother son song are such important moments on a wedding day that I wanted to showcase the love that fathers and mothers have while once again keeping the lyrics moment specific.
So, why do I call these songs "modern wedding songs?" To be modern in sound, the music must sound fresh and current. I'm fortunate enough to have my songs produced in Nashville, TN and to use the same great studio musicians that perform on all the big label artists. This type of production allows me to write, produce, and distribute modern wedding music that sounds as fresh and new as the songs that are currently being played on the radio. Best of all, the words are specific to brides and grooms. When writing, I always try to focus on longevity for a song and with that in mind, I try to produce a product that will be modern in sound, even if it's 10 years from the date in which I wrote the song.
Looking for modern wedding dance songs doesn't have to be a difficult process if you know just where to look. : )
